Biography
Yulietta Quevedo is a Spanish soprano whose artistry fuses vocal brilliance with dramatic intensity and a solid musical foundation. On stage, she captivates with emotional precision, stylistic flexibility, and a natural theatrical presence that makes every performance unforgettable.
Her repertoire spans both classic and daring roles: Despina in Così fan tutte, Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, Marie in La fille du régiement and Morgana in Handel’s Alcina. She hopes to have the opportunity to debut each of these roles on stage in the near future. She has embodied Teseo in Teseo under Michael Chance, Papagena in Die Zauberflöte with the DNOA and reimagined Cassio in Opera Spanga’s bold all-female adaptation of Verdi’s Otello. Yulietta has also collaborated with Dutch National Opera’s Opera Forward Festival Lab, and she was recently in Opera2Day’s innovative La revolutión de Carmen, covering Frasquita and performing in the ensemble. In 2026 she will make her debut in Teatro de la Zarzuela (Madrid) in the play Bohemios with the roles of Roberta and Cecilia.
Her oratorio performances highlight her affinity with sacred repertoire, including Bach’s Weihnachtsoratorium, Ich hatte viel Bekümmernis (BWV 21), Schwingt Freudig Euch Empor (BWV 36), and the Ascension Oratorio (BWV 11), in partnership with the International Vocal Competition in ’s-Hertogenbosch.
Versatile beyond opera, Yulietta is also a pianist, actress, and composer, driven by a passion for poetry and theatrical experimentation. She has composed original works for plays like El último sueño de Cervantes, Opus Freud, Omnia in Bonum, Crónica de un Secuestro where she also took roles like actress, musical director and assistant of director. As stage director and lead performer in Lamento with the Polimnia Project, she continues to explore the fertile crossroads of voice, text, and movement.
Committed to growth, she regularly refines her craft through masterclasses with leading artists such as Irá Siff, Michael Chance, Chelsea Bonagura, Quirijn de Lang, Thomas Oliemans and Andrew Watts.
Her artistic journey began with piano studies at the Conservatory of Music of Amaniel in Madrid, followed by specialization in vocal pedagogy at the Conservatory of Getafe. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Classical Singing from the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague and is now completing her Master’s in Classical Singing at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
